The stainless steel Shelter chimney cap is a durable and economic choice for chimneys where oil or coal is burned or where wood is the primary source of heat. The outside mounting design provides maximum free air space and a better draft while the durable stainless steel finish helps it stand up to the elements. This Shelter cap is designed with a 24 ga stainless steel hood with scalloped corners, an 18 ga 3/4 in expanded stainless steel mesh and a 16 ga stainless steel base for added strength. It installs easily with slotted hex-head mounting bolts. An optional heavy-duty stainless steel leg kit is available for use when the flue tile does not extend above the chimney crown.
