Burn Barrel for Yard Waste and Paper

This 20 gallon galvanized steel burn barrel is made for burning leaves, branches, garden waste, and dry paper in a contained steel drum rather than an open pile. It suits homeowners who need a small burn barrel for seasonal yard cleanup and a simple way to dispose of dry household paper outdoors. The round, compact design fits easily into a corner of the yard or garage, and the perforated lid lets air reach the fire. Check local fire rules and burn-ban notices for your area before you light it.

Galvanized Steel Burn Barrel Construction

The barrel is made from galvanized steel, a zinc-coated steel that resists rust and stands up to sunlight, rain, and temperature swings better than bare metal. The perforated lid improves airflow for more efficient burning, and the folding handle makes it easy to open, secure, and carry. Detachable support legs raise the barrel off the ground to improve airflow. Remove them to set the barrel directly on the ground. At only 8 lbs (3.6 kg), it is simple to move to a safe, level spot before each use.

Safe Use and Care

Place the burn barrel on level, non-flammable ground away from buildings, fences, and overhanging branches. If you use the support legs, make sure they are fully attached and the barrel is stable before lighting. Load dry material only, avoid liquids and large amounts of grease, then replace the lid. Let the ashes cool completely before emptying, and keep it dry and under cover when it is not in use. Never leave a burning burn barrel unattended.
